Once every year in the spring, Koknese Foundation organizes a charity auction offering works by Latvian artists for sale. The proceeds of the auction go to support the Garden of Destiny.

The first charity art auction took place on March 21, 2011 in Riga at the Lesser Guild (Mazā Ģilde). Sixteen works of art were auctioned off along with six manuscripts and one special photograph. For more information, click here.

The second charity art auction was organized on March 20, 2012 at the Latvian National Opera in Riga.

The third auction took place in Great Guild in Riga on April 28, 2013.

In preparation for the 2014 auction in April we invite you to donate art work as well as well known manuscripts by contacting the Foundation at 2947 6146.

OTHER OPTIONS

Vilis Vitols, Chairman of the Board

Things are not going easily at the moment, but with your help we will continue to build the Garden of Destiny – relentlessly and irreversibly. We are attempting to complete it as a gift to Latvia on her 100th birthday. If by chance we do not complete it on time, there is no cause for concern. Construction of St. Peter’s Church in Riga took a total of 282 years. It will not take us that long.

Latvian Association of Australia and New Zealand Latvians in Australia and New Zealand are but a small part of our far-strewn Latvian nation. Let us remember all of those lost to Latvia in various parts of the world
